The Kitchen Shack story
With over 100 years of combined Director experience, Kitchen Shack has become a trusted name in kitchen retail across Melbourne. The business focuses on offering stylish, affordable kitchens and laundries, serving homeowners, investors and DIY renovators alike. Every design is proudly Australian-made, supported by a team of highly experienced designers and a strong showroom presence across Victoria.
Seven years ago, Kitchen Shack adopted Cyncly’s Winner software to modernize its showroom design process. And in 2024, the business took its investment a step further by subscribing to Winner Flex, which unlocked the ability to work remotely, collaborate across multiple sites and protect vital project data.
The Challenge
Before adopting Winner, Kitchen Shack had used the same design package for more than two decades. While functional, it lacked the speed and visual quality the team needed to stay competitive in a fast-moving retail landscape.
Toby Walker, Managing Director of Kitchen Shack, explains:
“When customers come in for their design appointment, they want to see their new kitchen come to life. Winner gave us the visual tools to make that possible — designs that feel real and exciting, which helps build momentum towards the sale.”
But as the business grew — with more showrooms and a higher volume of design appointments — efficiency and flexibility became just as important. Designers needed to be able to quote and adjust projects quickly, especially during back-to-back appointments. And in 2025, a major unexpected event put Kitchen Shack’s digital systems to the ultimate test.
The solution: Winner and Winner Flex
The initial transition to Winner required a learning curve, but the benefits quickly became clear. Designs were faster to produce, easier to modify and more impressive to present.
In 2024, Kitchen Shack added Winner Flex to their subscription, enabling cloud access to designs, quotes and project data from anywhere. This move turned out to be more than just a productivity boost — it became a lifeline for the business.
“In January 2025, our Nunawading showroom was destroyed in a fire. We’d been in that location for nearly 30 years, and we lost everything inside. But because our data was backed up to the cloud with Winner Flex, we could pick up where we left off.”
With help from Cyncly’s support team, Kitchen Shack was able to continue operations almost immediately. Designers accessed projects remotely, maintaining continuity for customers and keeping momentum going until the new Forest Hill showroom opened four months later.
The benefits
By adopting Winner and Flex, Kitchen Shack has seen meaningful improvements across its operations:
“Winner Flex was a lifesaver — literally. Without it, we’d have lost every project we were working on. Instead, we were able to keep going with minimal disruption. That’s made a huge difference to our team and our customers.”
Looking ahead
Kitchen Shack continues to evolve its design and quoting processes with the help of Cyncly’s tools. With five showrooms across Melbourne and a growing reputation for value and service, the team is well positioned to thrive, no matter what challenges come their way.
