The Gainsborough Kitchens story
Gainsborough Kitchens is an independent kitchen design company founded by Alex Jenman in September 1998 in the Lincolnshire market town of Gainsborough. Over the last 28 years, the retail outlet has grown, expanding into buildings adjacent to the original showroom, from which it still operates. Recently, Gainsborough Kitchens expanded the showroom again, utilizing space in its attached warehouse to create another nine kitchen displays.
Kitchens remain 70% of the company’s business but today the showroom also houses five bathroom displays, as well as bedrooms, alongside its 20 kitchen displays. Its suppliers include Symphony, Masterclass Kitchens, Villeroy & Boch and Imperial Bathrooms.
Passionate about design and offering customers a first-class design service, Gainsborough Kitchens provides clients with a fully project managed fitting service that also includes interior design and colour consultations with an interior design company.
Gainsborough Kitchens has been using design software for 27 years and has seen how it has evolved during that time. Having worked with 2020 Fusion software for many years, the company transferred over to Cyncly’s Winner Flex platform and was instantly impressed by the quality of the renders that it produces.
However, the change initially took some getting used to as Director Alex Jenman explains:
“When we first started with Winner it was a bit of a struggle as we’d used a different software for 20 years and the way Winner works is completely different. But I’m now faster than I was with Fusion and the renders are better.”
- Smoother sales process: High quality renders provide customers with more confidence in the end design. “Having the best renders is exactly what we need to make the sales process easier.”
- More engaging customer experience: Faster renders make it easer to collaborate with customers. “If I’m making changes with a customer, I can put a full HD render on the screen within a minute, whereas it could have taken five or six minutes with the old version.
- Enhanced realism with less effort: “The lighting is so much better on the new render engine. Before we had to go in and alter every wall unit light and tone it down a bit. Now the under-wall unit lights are an appropriate glow and temperature without us having to change them.”
- Reduces design time: “It’s remarkably quick to use and saves a lot of time. The new render engine alone within Winner has sped things up when producing renders. We’re 100% quicker at least.”
- Increased conversions: “I think it helps to convert more sales. And it doesn’t cause us complications in the way that cheaper software might.”
- Constant innovation: Regular updates ensure Gainsborough Kitchens are creating the best renders possible. “Cyncly makes regular, noteworthy improvements. I’ve been really impressed with the new render engine.”
The benefits
Looking ahead
By using Winner, Amorini has created a design process that fits its business model and gives its partners the tools they need to succeed. From faster workflows to stronger designs, the results speak for themselves.
“The direction the platform is heading in is exactly what we’re looking for. If we can continue to improve how we work and support our network, then that’s a win for everyone.”
Amorini sees strong potential in the continued development of Winner Flex and other connected tools like Spaces Flex. These updates are helping the business work faster and more efficiently, which is key as it continues to grow.
The business is also keeping a close eye on the role of new technologies in future developments. As the platform continues to evolve, Amorini is ready to grow with it, building on a long-standing partnership that puts efficiency, flexibility and great design at the centre of the business.
“We’re really excited to see where Winner goes next. Every improvement brings more speed and more realism, which makes a big difference for us and for our partners.”

“The training courses are very good. We haven’t really needed to use the helpline as normally you can find the help you need online, which is good because we don’t work office hours when we’re designing. Most of my designs are done in the evenings and weekends when I won’t be interrupted.”
