Executive summary
Samverk has been at the forefront of Icelandic glass production since 1969 when it was founded by 8 local people in Rangárþing eystra, which is on the south coast of Iceland.
Over the last 57 years, the company has evolved as it has changed ownership. Today Samverk has a glass factory in the small southern town of Hella, which is approximately 90km east of Reykjavík, and a showroom, warehouse and sales office in Kópavogur, a town just outside of Reykjavík.
Samverk specializes in high-quality, custom-made glass in a wide range of shapes and sizes and focusses on providing complete solutions for all glass components. Currently it is the only company in Iceland that can manufacture tempered glass, and sales of its shower glass, glass walls, insulating glass, solar protection glass, mirrors and handrails remain strong. Its factory houses complete production equipment, which has been updated in recent years to ensure it is able to meet all customer requirements.
In 2017, Samverk switched from using a less competent system to Cyncly’s FeneVision ERP, which instantly streamlined its operations. Last year Samverk acquired new owners, which plan to invest further in FeneVision as part of its strategy to modernize operations and future-proof the company to secure its long-term growth.
